The challenge

Wren Sterling came to us with a problem. Their website was dull and generic and performed poorly against competitors’ sites. At TrunkBBI, we have proven success in improving and optimising websites with custom-built solutions. That’s why Wren Sterling asked us to rebuild their entire site from scratch, to make it high-performing, modern and reflect the brand’s identity.

The approach

Wren Sterling’s website used an off-the-shelf WordPress theme, bloated with plugins. It also had a large code base with messy and broken code. Plus, much of the site was hardcoded. This resulted in poor performance and flexibility, making maintaining and updating content difficult.

As Wren Sterling had previous experience with content management systems, we settled on a bespoke WordPress build using Roots Development Tools, including Bedrock and Sage. We created a custom WordPress theme using Advanced Custom Fields.

We optimised the code and site content wherever possible and created a WordPress stack alongside custom-built docker containers. Now, Wren Sterling has a streamlined and fully customisable website that we could continually develop and update, providing a fast, secure, and accessible solution.

The results
