During a difficult time for our home city of Manchester, we wanted to see what we could do to boost the final 30 days of the wonderful We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
So, our busy bees got to work on a brilliantly ‘buzzin’ online game based on the iconic Manchester bee. Top Buzz MCR challenged users to get their Worker Bee to the highest possible platform collecting hearts on the way and then share the results on Facebook or Twitter. At the same time users could also donate to the fund through the official Justgiving page
. As well as this, Manchester band Happy Mondays allowed us to use their classic track ‘Step On’ within the game to further enhance the experience and typical Manc team-spirit.
Overall, we were amazed by the kind-hearted response from the public as the game received huge engagement and resulted in a huge amount being raised towards the £1,783,523 total.
Rob Bolt, Design Director at Trunk said: “As a Manchester agency we are delighted to have been able to do our bit to support the community and help those affected by the attack. It’s one of our most rewarding projects to date and it was a privilege to be able to use the iconic worker bee, which became a symbol for the fund as well as the whole community. Buzzin.”
